Counterfeit Currency Worth Rs 1.64 Lakh Seized in Barpeta

Barpeta: Police seized counterfeit currency notes with a face value of Rs 1.64 lakh during an operation in the Mandia area of Barpeta district on Tuesday. One person, identified as Kalim Uddin, was detained in connection with the suspected circulation of fake notes.

Investigators are questioning Uddin to determine the source and intended destination of the counterfeit currency and to establish whether others were involved. Police have taken the seized notes into custody, while the investigation into the suspected counterfeit currency network remains underway.
