Couple Arrested for Fraud in Guwahati

Koustav Barua and his wife Jupitora Barua were arrested by Jamuguri police on Monday for fraud, accused of embezzling money while posing as an OSD to CM Hemanta Chaoudhury. Koustav falsely claimed to be a physician, targeting victims in Guwahati. After multiple complaints and FIRs, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) apprehended Koustav’s mother, leading to the couple’s surrender. They have been taken to Guwahati by CID officials.
