CPI(M) Slams Assam Govt for Halting Aadhaar Enrolment Above 18

CPI(M) criticised the Assam Cabinet’s decision to stop Aadhaar enrolment for those above 18 from October, calling it “misleading” and unjust. The party argued Aadhaar isn’t proof of citizenship and said nearly 10–12 lakh residents, mostly poor and illiterate, still lack it. CPI(M) demanded the decision’s withdrawal.
