Crackdown on Illicit Liquor in Sivasagar: 2,100 Litres of Fermented Wash Destroyed
The Sivasagar district administration intensified its crackdown on illegal liquor production, with a major operation led by Excise Inspector Dipak Phukan in Nazira circle on July 16. Raids were conducted in Santak, Bihubar, Chengdhora, Rohdoi, Maut Gaon, Panibil, and nearby areas. Authorities registered four cases, seized three liquor-making apparatuses, and destroyed 2,100 litres of fermented wash and 40 litres of country-made liquor (sulai), reinforcing their commitment to curbing illicit alcohol activities.
