Cruel Cattle Smuggling Technique Uncovered in Assam: Cows Tied to Banana Tree Rafts for Transport to Bangladesh
An inhumane method of smuggling cattle from Assam’s Dhubri district to Bangladesh has been uncovered. Smugglers tie cattle to banana tree rafts to transport them across the flooded river. This scene was discovered just 100 meters from the India-Bangladesh border in Biskhowa Village.
Early Tuesday, local fisherman Kanu Biswas spotted a distressed cow tied to a raft on the Bishkhowa riverbank. He alerted the village guard, who informed the police. Five cows were rescued from this cruel setup.
The police are investigating to identify and apprehend the smugglers involved in this illegal activity.
