D.El.Ed from NIOS no longer a recognised for teaching post
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course is not accepted as a prerequisite for the primary school teaching positions that have been posted recently, according to a recent notification from the Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE). Both new candidates who have obtained their certificates from the NIOS and current teachers are feeling worried as a result of this notification. It should be noted that the Directorate recently released a call for applications for 14000 teachers in the state, of whom 5550 were to work in primary schools. Of the same, 1750 belonged to the upper primary section and 3800 to the lower primary section. The first requirement for the positions mentioned was the D. El. Ed. certificate. However, as per a Supreme Court order, the recent notification nullified the diplomas and disqualified the holders from NIOS.
