Delimitation of Panchayats and Blocks to be Completed by September 15 for November Elections

The cabinet decided to complete the delimitation process for Gaon Panchayats and Blocks by September 15 to facilitate Panchayat elections by November. Delimitation for Gaon Panchayats and Anchalik Panchayats is set to finish by August 30. Currently, there are 2202 Gaon Panchayats, 185 Anchalik Panchayats, 21 Zila Parishads, and 239 Blocks.

In addition, the cabinet approved the establishment of youth clubs in every Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) to boost sports and identify talented sportspersons. Each club will receive Rs 5 lakh for infrastructure and Rs 10 lakh for equipment, with purchases managed by a committee headed by the district’s Deputy Commissioner.
