Dibrugarh Residents Demand Action Against Dummy Schools

Residents of Dibrugarh have urged the Government of Assam to take strict action against “dummy schools” that operate mainly as coaching centres while enrolling students only on paper.

Citizens say such institutions bypass regular classroom education and harm the integrity of the academic system. The demand follows action in Rajasthan, where the Rajasthan High Court ordered Special Investigation Teams to probe similar cases.

Locals have asked the Assam government to implement the Centre’s 2024 guidelines, investigate dummy schools across the state, and take strict action against coaching centres operating under school registrations.
