Dibrugarh Sees Record April Rainfall at 187.7 mm

Dibrugarh recorded 187.7 mm of rain in 24 hours, breaking its April record from 1973. It’s the fourth-highest 24-hour total ever for the city. Heavy rain also hit Tinsukia (160 mm), Naharkatiya (140 mm), and other districts. The downpour is due to dense cloud buildup over eastern Assam. IMD forecasts more rain till April 28. Despite this, Assam still faces a 35% seasonal rainfall deficit.
