Dibrugarh to Get New Assembly Campus, Assam’s Largest Stadium

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced Rs 493 crore for two major projects in Dibrugarh — a Rs 284 crore Assembly campus with MLA hostels and a 1,000-seat auditorium, and a Rs 209 crore revamp of Khanikar Stadium into a 35,000-capacity arena, the largest in the state. Dibrugarh, along with Guwahati and Jorhat, will also host international concerts under Assam’s new Concert Economy Policy. Grammy-nominated Post Malone is set to perform in Guwahati on December 8.
