Dilapidated NH6 Between Assam and Mizoram Raises Concern

Residents of Hailakandi and parts of Mizoram are worried about the worsening condition of National Highway 6, the key route between Assam and Mizoram. Potholes have made the road nearly unmotorable, especially around Jamira hospital and Gharmurra market. The poor condition is affecting vehicle movement and disrupting essential supply to Mizoram. Many truck drivers have stopped using the road due to safety risks. Despite repeated protests from locals and traders, no repairs have been made. NH6, constructed in 2008, has not seen any significant maintenance for years.
