Disaster Averted as Ferry Boat Springs Leak in Brahmaputra River

A potential catastrophe was narrowly avoided in Majuli, Assam, as the ferry boat SB Senimai experienced a leak while traversing the Brahmaputra River from Nimatighat to Aphalamukh Ghat. The incident, which caused panic among the 80 passengers and cargo of 26 motorcycles and four vehicles, prompted swift rescue operations by other ferries in the vicinity.
