Divyang Child Reunited With Family Through Aadhaar Biometrics in Assam

A divyang child in Assam was reunited with her family nearly a year after being found alone in Dibrugarh district. The girl, who was unable to communicate due to intellectual disabilities, was rescued in Namrup on May 29, 2025, and later kept at a children’s home under the care of the Child Welfare Committee.
With assistance from Unique Identification Authority of India, officials used her Aadhaar biometric data to trace her family in Charaideo district. She was finally reunited with her family at Borhat Tea Estate on Saturday.
