Downtown-Rukminigaon Flyover to Open on July 6

The Downtown-Rukminigaon flyover in Guwahati will open to the public on July 6, 2025. Built ahead of schedule in just 9 months, the 650-metre, four-lane flyover aims to ease traffic and flooding issues on GS Road. Constructed at a cost of ₹85 crore by local contractor Anil Das under Assam PWD, it includes parking below and streetlights above. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma hailed it as a major step in addressing Guwahati’s congestion problems.
