Drone-Based Postal Service Launched in Hajo

Guwahati: Assam Postal Department has launched a drone-based delivery service from Hajo Sub-Post Office, aiming to improve the speed and reach of postal services in remote areas.

Chief Postmaster General of Assam Prashant Kishore inaugurated the service, under which consignments will be delivered to Dampur and Khetri Hardia Branch Post Offices.

The inaugural flights covered around 7 and 8 km, with the department planning to eventually expand drone deliveries to distances of up to 82 km.
