Earthquake kills 128 people in Nepal

A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck a remote region of Nepal late Friday, killing at least 128 people. Over 140 people have been injured, and the death toll is expected to rise, according to Nepalese authorities.

Locals were filmed searching for survivors in the wreckage of collapsed homes and buildings in the dead of night.

Several houses were destroyed or damaged, and survivors huddled outside in terror, surrounded by the wailing of emergency sirens. Tremors from the earthquake were felt over 500 kilometres away in New Delhi.
