Eastern India’s First Remote Robotic Gallbladder Surgery Performed in Guwahati

A private hospital in Guwahati successfully conducted Eastern India’s first remote robotic gallbladder removal on two patients. Lead surgeon Prof Subhas Khanna operated from Gurgaon, nearly 1,950 km away, using the “Made-in-India” SSI Mantra system. Both patients are recovering well. The breakthrough promises advanced surgical care in smaller cities and remote areas, marking a milestone for Assam and the Northeast.
