Eight Detained in Guwahati Gang Rape Case After Video Surfaces

Police detained eight individuals on Friday after a video showing a gang rape near Boragaon, Guwahati, surfaced online.

The crime, which occurred on November 17 during the Raas festival near a Durga Temple, came to light through the viral video. Swift police action led by Gorchuk OC Mayurjit Gogoi resulted in the arrest of the accused, aged 18-23, from various locations.

DCP West Padmanabh Baruah urged people not to share the video online, emphasizing that such acts are criminal. Efforts are ongoing to identify the victim and file a case.
