Elderly Man Killed in Train Accident Near Panikhaiti Station

An unidentified man, believed to be around 65 years old, died after being hit by a train near Panikhaiti Railway Station on Thursday.

Police said the incident occurred while he was crossing the railway track, and a speeding BG Express train reportedly dragged him several metres. Railway Police recovered the body and sent it to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.

An investigation has been launched into the incident.
