Election Commission Announces Phased Voting Schedule for Lok Sabha Elections in Assam

The Election Commission, headed by CEC Rajiv Kumar, declared the voting dates for the upcoming Lok Sabha election. Assam will conduct voting in three phases: April 19, April 26, and May 7. The state’s 14 constituencies have been divided accordingly. Phase one on April 19 includes Jorhat, Sonitpur, Kaziranga, Lakhimpur, and Dibrugarh. Phase two on April 26 covers Diphu, Silchar, Karimganj, Darrang-Udalguri, and Nagaon. Lastly, phase three on May 7 comprises Guwahati, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, and Dhubri. The voting process is part of the larger 7-phase Lok Sabha elections spanning from April 19 to June 1, with vote counting scheduled for June 4.
