Eviction Drive Resumes in Jamuna-Maudanga Reserved Forest

Doboka: The district administration and Forest Department resumed the eviction drive in Jamuna-Maudanga Reserved Forest, targeting 152 families and around 525 bighas of allegedly encroached land. Around 12 bulldozers have been deployed, while some families reportedly began vacating their homes ahead of the operation.
The drive follows a January eviction that displaced 1,098 families and reclaimed around 700 hectares. The remaining 152 families had secured temporary court relief, allowing their houses to remain until further action. The authorities have now resumed the operation to clear the alleged encroachments.
