Eviction Drive to Resume in Nagaon as Deadline Ends for 86 Families

The Nagaon administration will restart its eviction drive on Friday, targeting 86 families living on 38 bighas of government grazing land in Bhakatgaon under Rupahihat circle. Authorities issued a 15-day notice, which ends today, with no extension planned.
Bulldozers and security forces are already in place. The move follows an earlier eviction in Lutumari, where over 5,000 bighas of forest land were cleared, displacing around 1,500 families.
Many affected residents say they have nowhere to go, expressing fear and uncertainty as the operation approaches.
