Ex-BJP Leader Jayanta Das Files Independent Nomination in Dispur

Former BJP leader Jayanta Das filed his nomination as an Independent candidate from Dispur, days after quitting the party.

He alleged attempts to block his candidature and said he is contesting to defeat both BJP and Congress candidates, calling them from the same political stream.

Das cited denial of ticket as the reason for his exit and hinted at launching a new political platform after the elections.
