Exploring Multidisciplinary Research: TU Symposium Highlights Emerging Trends
Tezpur University’s Centre for Multidisciplinary Research (CMDR) hosted a one-day national symposium on “Emerging Trends in Multidisciplinary Research.” Dr. Pradip S. Mohurl from NEIAH, Shillong, and Dr. Darpa S. Jyethi from Indian Statistical Institute, North-East Centre, were key resource persons. Prof. Shambu Nath Singh, TU Vice Chancellor, emphasized holistic education’s role in addressing societal issues like climate change and mental health. Prof. Debendra Chandra Baruah, CMDR Director, discussed plans to introduce Indian Knowledge System research, citing the Ahom kingdom as an example. Technical sessions covered preventive aspects of Ayurveda, climate change mitigation, and leveraging science for social problem-solving. Poster presentations showcased diverse research areas, attracting over 100 participants from 25+ institutes across India and abroad, including academics, scholars, professionals, and students.
