Fast-Track Court Set Up for Zubeen Garg Death Case in Assam

The Gauhati High Court has approved an exclusive fast-track sessions court to conduct daily hearings in the Zubeen Garg death case. Baksa District Judge Sharmila Bhuyan will preside over the court.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the move aims to speed up justice, following a request from the victim’s family. Until the court becomes operational, the district court will continue daily hearings.
The case relates to Garg’s death in Singapore on September 19 last year. A chargesheet has been filed against seven accused, with four charged with murder.
