Father and Son Killed in Mud House Collapse Due to Heavy Rain in Cachar

A father and his infant son were killed, and a woman was injured after a mud house collapsed due to heavy rain in Durganagar part-I, Choiltakandi area of Cachar district on Monday night. The deceased were identified as Ajib Uddin, aged around 40, and his infant son. The child’s mother is being treated at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

Udharbondh MLA Mihir Kanti Shome expressed deep sorrow over the incident and mentioned that the Circle Officer has rushed to the spot to arrange ex-gratia support for the family. In a separate incident, a 16-year-old boy went missing at the Madhura River, and rescue operations are ongoing.
