Ferry Collision Narrowly Averted at Guwahati-North Guwahati Ferry Ghat
A potentially catastrophic incident was narrowly avoided when a ferry carrying passengers lost control and collided with another ferry at the Guwahati-North Guwahati ferry ghat. The ferry, MV Kameng, carrying around 200 passengers and 50 two-wheelers, crashed into MV Manikarneswar at the Majgaon ferry ghat. Thankfully, no lives were lost in the collision. However, tensions ran high as passengers blamed management for allowing an inexperienced individual to steer the ferry in the absence of the original driver. Despite the close call, a major accident was averted, prompting relief among all involved.
