Ferry Services Halted in Guwahati Amid Heavy Rainfall and Storm Warning

Ferry services between Guwahati and North Guwahati were suspended on Friday due to continuous rain and stormy weather. The Inland Water Transport Department cited safety concerns and will resume operations once conditions improve. A red alert is in effect in Assam until May 31, with the IMD warning of heavy rainfall, strong winds, flash floods, and landslides in several districts. Parts of Guwahati were waterlogged, and ASDMA has urged residents to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel.
