Ferry Services Resume Between Jorhat and Majuli Amid Receding Brahmaputra Water Levels

Ferry services between Jorhat and Majuli have resumed on Friday after being suspended due to the rise in water levels of the Brahmaputra River. The resumption of services has brought relief to passengers who were stranded for several days. The suspension, which began six days ago, was initially for an indefinite period due to the significant rise in water levels at Nimatighat. The reopening has led to a surge in passenger numbers at Nimati Kamalabari Ghat. The Inland Water Transport Department has imposed certain regulations for the resumed services. However, ferry operations through Aphalamukh Ghat remain suspended.
