Ferry Services Suspended in Guwahati Due to Rising Brahmaputra Water Level

Guwahati, Assam: All ferry services in and around Guwahati have been suspended from June 24 following a sharp rise in the Brahmaputra River caused by heavy monsoon rains. The Inland Water Transport Department said the decision was taken as a precaution to ensure passenger safety.
The suspension includes ferry services to Umananda Temple and all routes connecting the north and south banks of the river. Commuters have been advised to use alternative transport until services resume.
