Financial Aid Given to 442 Former BLT Cadres in Guwahati

The Assam government on Thursday distributed financial assistance to 442 former BLT cadres living outside the BTC region at a programme held at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra. The grants were handed over by Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah and BTC Chief Executive Member Hagrama Mohilary.

Each beneficiary received ₹2 lakh as part of the government’s rehabilitation initiative. Minister Baruah said the support reflects the state’s commitment to peace, rehabilitation, and development, and urged the former cadres to pursue skill development and lead self-reliant lives.
