Fire at Shaniboriya Commercial Centre Causes Massive Damage

A fire at Shaniboriya commercial centre in Jamugurihat’s Balijuri destroyed nine businesses early today. Sparked by an electrical short circuit, the blaze quickly spread, intensified by nine gas cylinder explosions.

Despite locals alerting the fire brigade, delayed response led to a hotel, jewelry shop, and cycle store being completely gutted. Estimated losses exceed ₹10 lakh. Police from Itakhola outpost are investigating the incident.
