Fire Destroys Five Shops in Bokakhat, Losses Estimated at Over ₹70 Lakh

Bokakhat: A late-night fire in Borjuri Gaon of Golaghat district on Thursday gutted five business establishments, causing preliminary losses estimated at more than ₹70 lakh. A motorcycle repair garage was among the worst affected, with around 15 motorcycles reportedly destroyed.

The fire is suspected to have started at a computer shop, though the exact cause remains unknown. A nearby salon, hotel and pan shop were also damaged. Firefighters reached the spot and brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading further.
