Five Prisoners Escape from Morigaon Jail in Assam

Five prisoners, all awaiting trial under the POCSO Act, escaped from Morigaon District jail in Assam. Identified as Saifuddin, Ziarul Islam, Nur Islam, Mafidul, and Abdul Rashid, the inmates broke through the jail bars and used blankets, lungis, and bedsheets to scale the wall under the cover of darkness. Following the escape, the District Superintendent of Police launched an investigation and a manhunt is underway to recapture the fugitives. Authorities are also reviewing the security breach.
