Former BJP Leader Amiya Kanti Das Withdraws from Dholai By-Poll

Former BJP leader Amiya Kanti Das withdrew his nomination from the Dholai by-polls after a conversation with Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. Das, who ran as an Independent after being denied a party ticket, said his commitment to RSS ideologies remained intact. He withdrew his candidacy in the presence of senior BJP leaders, reaffirming his support for the party. Despite reports of offers to step down, BJP denied these, stating Das will continue serving as vice president of the district.
