Former BJP MLA Resigns, Alleges Party’s Ideological Shift

Aminul Haque Laskar, former BJP MLA and ex-Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, made headlines as he resigned from the BJP’s primary membership ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Laskar cited the party’s loss of political ideology as the reason for his departure. He criticized the BJP for what he perceives as playing communal cards, akin to the AIUDF, and expressed dissatisfaction with both the BJP and AGP. Laskar announced his intention to join the Congress party, emphasizing his commitment to serving the people of his constituency. Despite Laskar’s departure, there has been no official response from the BJP regarding his resignation.
