Former Minister and NPP Leaders Join Congress in Manipur
In a political shift in Manipur, nine individuals, including former minister L. Jayantakumar and NPP leader O. Romen Singh, joined the Indian National Congress at an event in Imphal. Key Congress figures, including former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, welcomed the new members.
Ibobi Singh criticized the central government’s handling of the ongoing Manipur crisis, accusing it of inaction and foul play. He emphasized that the crisis could be resolved and stressed the importance of maintaining Manipur’s territorial integrity, rejecting demands for separate administration. Several prominent local leaders and former councillors also joined the Congress during the event.
