Four Held in Barpeta Jewellery Showroom Robbery Case

Four persons have been detained in connection with an armed robbery at a jewellery showroom in Assam’s Barpeta district. The suspects were picked up from Goalpara and brought to Barpeta for questioning, while efforts are on to trace the remaining accused.

The robbery occurred on Friday afternoon at Senco Alankar showroom in Barpeta Road, where five armed men held staff and customers at gunpoint, tied employees, and caused minor injuries. Police are examining CCTV footage as the probe continues. The value of stolen jewellery and cash is yet to be confirmed, with estimates ranging from several crores.
