Four Trafficked Bangladeshi Girls Rescued at New Bongaigaon Station

Railway police at New Bongaigaon Station on Wednesday detained four Bangladeshi girls who had illegally crossed the border and were suspected victims of a trafficking network. Police believe they were lured with job offers and brought into India through a broker who charged around ₹1.5 lakh.

After investigation, the girls were handed over to Bangladesh authorities via Golakganj in Dhubri district following a BSF–BGB flag meeting. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to trace those involved in the trafficking network.
