Gauhati HC Allows 771 ASTC Contract Employees to Continue

The Gauhati High Court ruled that 771 contractual ASTC employees, released in 2023, can continue working until regular appointments are made or the posts are abolished. Justice Kardak Ete noted the appointments were irregular but not illegal. The employees, however, will not receive back wages for the period they were out of service.
