Gauhati HC Orders Probe Over Missing Drugs in Karbi Anglong Case

The Gauhati High Court directed the DGP to investigate the missing 1,995.29 grams of seized heroin in a Karbi Anglong drug case. The investigation officer was unaware of the contraband’s location, prompting concerns over evidence handling.

The High Court quashed the conviction of two accused due to non-compliance with NDPS Act provisions. A report has been sought from the District & Sessions Judge and the District Drug Disposal Committee on the status of the seized narcotics.
