Gauhati High Court Seeks Roadmap for Aizawl–Silchar Highway Repairs

The Gauhati High Court has asked contractor J Infratech Limited to submit a clear execution plan for completing repairs on the Aizawl–Silchar highway.

Hearing a PIL by the Mizoram Truck Drivers’ Association, the court directed the firm to explain how it will complete the remaining 65% of work by April, as only 35% has been finished so far.

The bench also instructed NHIDCL to file an affidavit detailing its monitoring process and clarify construction materials used.

The highway is a crucial lifeline for Mizoram, making project delays a serious public concern.
