Gauhati University Opens Applications for M.Tech Admission Through GATE

GUWAHATI: Gauhati University has invited applications for admission to its M.Tech programmes in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering for the 2026–27 academic session through valid GATE scores.

The department is offering M.Tech in Advanced Communication and Information System (ACIS) and M.Tech in VLSI and Microelectronics (VM). Eligible candidates with relevant B.E., B.Tech or equivalent qualifications, or an M.Sc. in Electronics, Physics or Instrumentation, may apply, subject to the GATE score requirements mentioned in the admission notification.

According to the announcement, online applications opened on August 21, 2026, and the last date for submission is August 27, 2026. The merit list is scheduled to be published on August 28, followed by admission on September 2, while classes are set to commence on September 3.

Gauhati University’s official Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering confirms that both M.Tech in Advanced Communication and Information System and M.Tech in VLSI and Microelectronics are academic programmes offered by the department under the university’s Faculty of Technology.
