Gaurav Gogoi Blames Police, Home Dept for Failing to Prevent Baksa Jail Unrest

APCC President and MP Gaurav Gogoi criticized the police and Home Department for failing to prevent Wednesday’s violence outside Baksa District Jail. He called for a fair probe into Zubeen Garg’s death and urged the public to remain calm. Gogoi also condemned attacks on journalists and the torching of a media vehicle. The unrest began when crowds demanded the accused be presented publicly, leading to stone-pelting and injuries. Authorities imposed prohibitory orders under BNSS Section 163 to restore order.
