Gaurav Gogoi Raises Concern Over Rising Racial Attacks on Northeast Citizens in Delhi

Gaurav Gogoi has expressed serious concern over rising incidents of racial harassment and violence against people from the Northeast in New Delhi. Reacting to the recent assault and racial abuse of a woman from Assam in Delhi, Gogoi demanded strict and time-bound action against the accused.

In a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gogoi urged the Centre to strengthen safety measures for Northeast citizens and review existing protection mechanisms. He said repeated incidents of racism and violence in the national capital highlight the need for stronger legal safeguards, awareness campaigns, and institutional accountability.
