Gaurav Gogoi Visits Flood-Hit Barak Valley, Slams BJP Govt
New APCC president Gaurav Gogoi visited flood-affected areas in Cachar, Assam, on a two-day tour of Barak Valley. He met displaced victims in Katigorah and Borkhola relief camps. Gogoi criticized the BJP government for focusing on attacking Congress instead of aiding flood victims. He also opposed the state’s decision to allow civilians to bear arms, warning of potential unrest. Responding to BJP’s Pakistan jibe, Gogoi credited CM Sarma for his rise. He affirmed Congress’s focus on flood relief over elections. Floods have claimed 19 lives in Assam so far.
