Ghanakanta Gogoi’s Post-Mortem to Be Conducted at AMCH in Dibrugarh

The post-mortem examination of Ghanakanta Gogoi, the prime accused in the October 26 Hotel Bilas Inn shooting in Guwahati, will be conducted at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh, instead of Sivasagar Civil Hospital. Gogoi died in police firing near Rongmon Dhaba in Sivasagar district early on November 4 following an alleged attempt to escape from police custody.
Meanwhile, relatives of injured victim Satyendra Pathak, who is undergoing treatment at GMCH, expressed relief over Gogoi’s death. Barpeta MLA Deepak Kumar Das also reacted to the incident, stating that “the burden on this earth has been reduced by one,” and called for Gogoi’s wife, Junmoni Gogoi, to be included in the investigation.
