GMC Fines Violators ₹1.3 Lakh in a Day for Civic Rule Breaches

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) intensified its crackdown on civic rule violators, issuing fines totaling ₹1.3 lakh in a single day. A Paltan Bazar resident was fined ₹80,000 for dumping garbage on the road, while a G.S. Road shopping mall faced a ₹50,000 penalty for lacking a valid trade license.

The GMC warned of continued strict action against those neglecting cleanliness and regulatory compliance, urging citizens and businesses to follow civic rules to avoid hefty penalties.
