GMC Launches Subsidized Water Scheme for Ration Card Holders

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) introduced a Subsidized Water Supply Connection scheme for ration card holders. Mayor Mrigen Sarania inaugurated the program, offering a Rs 7,000 subsidy on 15 mm house connections.

Kanaklata Rajbongshi became the first applicant under the initiative. Key officials, including Guwahati Jal Board MD Pallav Gopal Jha, attended the launch.

The scheme aims to provide affordable access to clean water, improving living standards for underprivileged households.
