Goa Police Arrest Two in ₹1.42 Crore Digital Arrest Cyber Fraud

Goa Police arrested two inter-state cybercrime suspects from Nagaon district, Assam, in connection with a ‘digital arrest’ scam that cheated victims of about ₹1.42 crore. The accused allegedly impersonated police and central agency officials to threaten victims into transferring money. Acting on a Goa complaint, a special team traced fraudulent calls to Nagaon with help from local police. Technical evidence linked the accused to earlier cases. They will be taken to Goa on transit remand for further investigation.
